Everyone gets ideas filled with hopes and expectations on the day when a New Year is dawned.

There are many in our society who determines on the New Year day to rectify the mistakes done in the past year, to commence the day with plans to make the New Year dawned as a fruitful and prosperous year and to commence the day with future planning.

These new determinations are values that need to be appreciated and it also becomes prescience for strengthening the future.  For the People of Sri Lanka who lived for almost three decades without any confidence of a tomorrow, the independence gained through vanquishing terrorism have many expectations to achieve in the future.  The expectations have increased by many folds since they have realised that the country is marching towards a better future. 

It is prudent to name the year 2011 as the beginning of the course that would enshrine peace, stability, happiness and prosperity in the country.  For the government that guaranteed the freedom fulfilling the expectations of the masses, the task of developing this country is not an arduous exercise. 
Achieving the expected goals expeditiously is the determined objectives of the government as it represents the expectations of the people.  The inborn qualities of the people to achieve the objectives and move beyond the targets make the society vibrant.  The new reawakening being witnessed in the society would certainly strengthen the objective of creating a new and prosperous Sri Lanka.

The beginning of the New Year will facilitate to win the hopes and aspirations of the people, to make Sri Lanka a developed country in the world, and to unify various communities in Sri Lanka and achieve the set targets. 

As we determinedly won all objectives despite they being difficult and agonizing, if it is the determination of all Sri Lankans to exert in unison to realize the objectives of establishing a better and prosperous Sri Lanka, all the years to come will be a victorious year for Sri Lanka.
