Five Hundred Thousand to join Sri Lanka May Day Rally

The organizers of the Sri Lanka ruling party May Day rally said that over five hundred thousand work force will attend the today's May Day procession that will begin from the Campbell Park, Borella at 1.30 pm.
This year's May Day has become very important to Sri Lanka as the
theme of the day as declared by President in his message is "Upan
bimata da bindhuwak, Rata surakina jana paurak to safeguard the
country, employees' rights and trade union victories,"
While the SLFP, the ruling coalition's main party procession will
start from the Campbell Park, three other processions will join it
from three different directions. The National Freedom Front Procession
led by Minister Wimal Weerawansa will come from Maligawatta. The MEP
procession led by Minister Dinesh Gunawardene will start from
Narahenita while the LSSP/CP led left party procession will come from
N.M. Perera Ground at Borella Cotta road.
The main procession will go through Ward Place and the Alexandra place
to the final venue of the meeting at Town Hall.
The May Day meeting is scheduled to commence at 3.30 PM at Town Hall
with President Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Chief Guest.
In the meantime the working people from outside will come in their
thousand to join the procession. People in groups have already arrived
from north, east and south separately
