Sri Lanka National Disaster Management Centre said that there is no disaster situation in the country despite thunder showers experiencing in many parts of the country. Sri Lanka meteorological department had last morning forecast widespread thunder showers in the evening and night on Saturday.
The National Disaster Management Center (DMC) urged the public not to panic over the bad weather situation in most parts of the country. Assistant Director of the DMC Pradeep Kodippili told news.lk that apart from spill overs and opening of sluice gates of some major irrigation tanks, no disaster situations were reported."We had reports of earth slip at 47th mile post on Gampola Nuwara Eliya road but the road was cleared for traffic within hours by the authorities" Mr. Kodippily said.
