Don’t exploit younger generation for political mileage

President Mahinda Rajapaksa urged the opposition political parties not to exploit the younger generation of the country for mere political mileage. President charged that the opposition in the country today is making use of the younger generation to achieve their political motives.

President speaking at a ceremony in Lunugamwehera said that opposition is engaged in concocted activities to spoil minds of school children by spreading rumours that the government was going to extend the school hours upto 3.30 pm.. The government would not allow the opposition to exploit the younger generation through dastardly acts, he said.

Secretary to President Mr. Lalith Weerathungha had recently categorically denied about the extension of school hours.He said there is no such a decision taken by the government.

“The opposition which has nothing to its credit is engaged in covert actions to jeopardize the government’s development programs” President declared.
